How to REGISTER for studio classes
Please call or email the studio for instructions on how to register for in - person classes. You can register for classes at any time during the session. Sessions run on four week blocks. If a regular class doesn’t fit your schedule, we offer drop-ins. Just email or call and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
Mat Pilates classes incorporate the principles of the STOTT Pilates method - a contemporary, anatomically-based approach to Joseph Pilates' original exercises. A "thinking person's exercise," focusing on postural strength, flexibility, alignment and coordination through the strengthening of both the mobilizing and stabilizing muscles within the pelvic and spinal region. These movements are performed primarily on the floor, at times using small equipment to further challenge the core and supporting muscles.

POSTURE & STRETCH THERAPY (PST)
Posture & Stretch Therapy(PST) is a comprehensive stretching system that includes stretching, facial remodeling, directed breathing(breath stretch), strengthening, neural re-patterning and relaxation. The goals are grace and ease, and this is experienced as enhanced awareness and elegance in movement.
PST is different from traditional limbering stretches in that it utilizes the Contract-Relax technique to re-pattern chronically tight muscles, restricted joints and movement patterns . We deepen the contract-relax experience by adding trigger point/fascia work using various size balls or foam rollers. PST uses a combination of tactile cues and visualisation to direct breathing into particular parts of the body while in a stretch position.
PST releases muscular tension and allies common aches and pains associated with stress, age, sports, or too much work at the computer. A perfect complement to Pilates, PST will unlock your bodies tension so you can truly experience life.
We say that PST is a safe, yet extremely efficient, way to improve your flexibility. Everyone’s path is unique, and our approach reflects this reality.

POWERPUMP!
PowerPump! is a strength training class incorporating the stabilization principles of Pilates.
A high repetition, low weight class using dumbbells and light weight barbells with adjustable plates. This is a great class for maintaining bone density, toning and building strength.

Meditation is a mental exercise that trains attention and awareness. Its purpose is often to curb reactivity to one's negative thoughts and feelings, which, though they may be disturbing and upsetting and hijack attention from moment to moment, are invariably fleeting. It’s impossible for us to make our thoughts disappear; often, the more we try to suppress them, the louder they become. But practicing meditation can help clear away the mind’s chatter. Studies show that meditating even for as little as 10 minutes increases the brain's alpha waves (associated with relaxation) and decreases anxiety and depression.

Do you have chronic muscular tension in your body(always feeling like you need to stretch one or a group of muscles) or would you like to explore new pathways of heightened body awareness?
Somatics is a heart centered approach to neuromuscular re-education of your nervous system. With guided, slow mindful movements you will learn about the terrain of your bodily sensations to alter stress, find new or forgotten ways to move and develop your ability to listen to your mind and body as one.
These conscious, slow and thoughtful movements will strengthen your life force and create a joyous effervescence to your day.

Gentle Somatics Tuition - 4 Week Session

BONE BUILDING CLASS
This exercise program has been developed for those who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia. This weekly group class for women and men focuses on exercises which improve strength, flexibility, posture, balance, and body awareness. Studies have shown that resistance, weight-bearing and impact exercises help to build quality bone density.

The class will include a warm-up, stretching/core strengthening/balance work, and the weight training exercises. There are only 4 weight training exercises to perform: deadlift, military press, squats and lift/hold/drop. All of these exercises are scalable and can accommodate any exercise level. You will focus on proper exercise technique, breathing and core engagement.
Bone building Class- 4 Week Session

This class uses the patented STOTT PILATES spring-tensioned reformer. The reformer improves joint mobility, flexibility and increases resistance beyond body weight and gravity. This class offers you more focused time with your instructor as class size is limited to four.
